So, anyone know of women 43 or older who might be interested in me? :)

Age totally matters right now: date up! If you're accustomed to going out with people your age or younger, push yourself out your league. Hook up with someone at least five years older. It's a great way to expand your prospects and meet lots of new people.

OMG!!!11!~ Pt. 2
So, I went all by my lonesome to Dark Garden today.
The store is very nicely laid out. Small, but they make good use of their space. Lots of lovely corsets & pretty jewelry.
So...I thought all I was going to get was a standard ready-made corset. No frills or anything...just the basics.
Nope.
They only had ready-made 30's on hand in black...and I didn't want black.
So...I was told to start looking at fabrics & they would make me a 30" sweetheart Victorian in any fabric(s) of my choice.
I reminded them that I had only won the ready-made corset. The owner stated that ready-made included custom fabric, just not custom measurements.
So...I went through the fabric swatches & some fabric bolts.
What I decided on was something...unexpected (for me). I had started off picking out vibrant colors; an iridescent teal, burgundy w/ ivory chrysanthemums, black with small neon (pink, blue, green) flowers, electric blue...
What I decided on was a golden ivory Chinese floral brocade trimmed in a rich russet silk. The trim will be on all the edges & also outlining the boning & the laces will match the trim.
So....now I wait 2 months.
Oh and for the curious....the corset was worth $420 by the time it was all said & done. I paid $10 for the 2 raffle tickets.

The surgery
Was a failure.
They could find my fallopian tubes, but they couldn't get the catheters that would load the springs in to my fallopian tubes.
And...
I was honest enough to tell them that I'm getting a cold, so they refused to intubate me & put me fully under to do the regular surgery.
I'm supposed to get in touch with them once I'm healthy & we'll re-schedule.
Unfortunately, I have all the downsides of the surgery. My insides ache, I'm bleeding, nauseous & tired.

I sent Dark Garden email asking if they would be open the day after Christmas.

Me? Afraid of the dark?
The power went out around 8:30, for about 5 minutes. I heard a lot of thunder before, during & after.
Lucky me, I was in the bathroom.
Luckier me, the big flashlight was right near my desk.
I've got my computer up (duh), but not Rik's (who is in Chicago).
The TV works, but I can't get the volume on the tuner to work.
I've set the alarm on my cell phone for 6:30am (just in case), and I have the flashlight on the headboard.
It's a good thing it's chilly here...don't have to worry about the food in the fridge & freezer if the power goes out again.
I'm going to bed now...now where is my teddybare or is that bear?
Day 1
Is in the past (mostly).
They are...on the surface anyway...disorganized. There's boxes & binders & piles of paper in every office that I've seen. I wonder if they have recently moved or do they just have no real storage system.
They just threw me right into things. They are due to transmit payroll tomorrow. I'm supposed to attend a meeting tomorrow afternoon & explain to them all the pros & cons of upgrading their timekeeping & payroll systems.
I'm still not clear if they are upgrading no matter what, or if they are still in the 'thinking & need convincing' stage.
I'd be more comfortable with this if I had spent more than a few hours working on their current systems.
By & large the people seem friendly & welcoming. I got introduced to too many people & shown too many places around the office today. I only remember 3 peoples names and that's only because I've talked to them quite a bit.
I think my boss is the person I'm sharing an office with. Speaking of office, it's kind of like a fishbowl. 3 solid walls & 4th wall that's 2 windows & a sliding glass door, facing out into the main office area.
The drive is quick, but there's construction going on about a mile from the office, so I had to blindly re-route myself this morning to get there.
There's quite a bit of food options near by...but I intend to start bringing my lunch to work soon...once I remember where the lunch room is.
