Fucking Jerk!

So...I'm coming home from work today & 680 South is pretty backed up. so I hopped onto 24. About 2 miles from the Tunnel, my car DINGS....fuck, I forgot to get gas before leaving work.....and to be honest, I'm not really sure just how much over 300 miles per tank I can really go, and I was already at about 320.... So, I finally get through the Caldecott Tunnel & I get onto 13 going towards Hayward. I get off on the 1st likely looking exit, which gives me the choice of going to Moraga or Piedmont. I picked Moraga. Narrow streets, expensive cars, lots of little touristy shops. Just as my car is starting to get the the BOTTOM of my red line, I see a gas station. I do this difficult V type turn to get into the driveway and somewhat pointed to a gas machine....only to have a group of motorcyclists zip around me & take the next available machine. My gas tank is on the passenger side, near the back of the car, so I'm pointing in pretty much the wrong direction now for the next available machine, so I slowly angle my car around and end up approaching the machine at a diagonal with my front end pointed away and my rear end real close to a cement barrier/planter. As I'm trying to wiggle around to get myself closer to the machine, another car wedges in behind me & cuts off my path in that direction (the motorcycles are in front of me).....just as I realize I'm touching the cement barrier. I looked behind me.....and the person in the other car made it clear they weren't going to move to give me space to manuever....so I cranked my steering wheel as hard as I could and ever so slowly tried to get my car pointed in a straight line, while trying to go around this barrier/planter.....and thereby......DENTING MY FUCKING DOOR & KNOCKING OFF SOME TRIM!!!! When I finally was facing forward, I got out the car....and the driver behind me noticed me looking at the DENT in the bottom of my passenger door.....and they just SHRUGGED at me!!! Judging by the way it looks, I'm probably going to need a new door.....and I'm really wondering what the fuck I'm going to do with the FLAMES that are decaled from 1 end of the car to the other.....will the body shop be able to take them off & put them on the new door....or will I have a car with flames on only 1 side? If money wasn't such a fucking issue right now, I'd just get the new door, strip off ALL the flames, and get the PAINT job I've been wanting to get....but that alone is going to cost me $1,800.00....and with Rik not working, that is just something I can't justify spending right now. To say I'm mad.....would be an understatement.

What is it with ex's? Why is it when 2 people decide to part ways, whether it be friendly or not....suddenly it seems like 1 or both of them expect all their friends to choose between them, and 1 or both of them decides they must stop going to places where they might see the other, and 1 or both of them are totally incapable of even being cordial or polite to each other? My mother was married to my dad for about 6 years, and they've been divorced for about 30 years. She was married to my step-dad for about 6 years, and they've been divorced for about 20 years. She can't talk about either of them in a positive light after all these years. Jerk, bastard & asshole are frequent descriptions I've heard about them all these years. I mean...I understand if the parting of ways was horrible & hurtful, how you wouldn't want anything to do with the person....but what is the point of holding on to feelings of animosity for decades? At what point is it OK to just let go of the old hurts and just let the past be the past? I think about this because I realize....that every person I've dated....I have little or no contact with. Most of them do not speak well of me, and the few that I have seen off & on over the years, pretty much ignore me when we come across each other. Last night, I was at a party. I saw a woman I was friends with & had dated. We never got really serious with each other, mostly because we couldn't get our schedules to mesh. Our dating stopped about 18 months ago. When I saw her last night, she looked at me, and then just walked right past me. As she was almost past, I spoke up & said hello to her. The look she gave me, made it clear that I was definitely bothering her. My last serious love....she & I parted way a few months ago. I purposely didn't try to contact her for about a month after, because I wanted both of us to have time & space to start to heal. I did have her former house-mate let her know that if she wanted to talk to me, she could call or email me. After nearly 3 months, I attempted to contact her. I let her know that I was thinking of her, hoping that she was doing well, and that I missed talking to her. About 3 weeks ago, when I mass-mailed my address & number change out....she was part of that list. Much to my surprise, she contacted me & let me know that her life was going well & that she too was moving. I replied & let her know I was happy to hear from her, and that I looked forward to talking to her more. And.....nothing. Is this just the way love & relationships are? Do people just stop existing for each other when things go bad? Isn't there ever a chance for things to mellow out & they can, if not be friends, at least be cordial & polite to each other? Is it necessary to pointedly ignore each other, and to tell everyone how horribly the other person treated you, and to try to turn people against your former love?

Finally

It took SBC a long time to get us straightened out. We should have been hooked up to DSL on Thursday.....finally got up & running Saturday morning. House.....sigh where to begin. I guess the biggest thing....is the painters. #1 - They are not finished with the painting and 3/4 of our possession are outside in my garage & carport. #2 - They have managed to get paint on the new white carpet in almost every room of the house. #3 - I don't know when they'll be finished painting or what's going to come of this....carpet replacement? Serious reduction in the bill? They initially said they'd be done painting Monday.....then it was Wednesday, then it was Thursday by 1:00 PM......it's now Saturday. They still have 1 bathroom to do, the ceiling in our living room, and doors/trim throughout the house. Hell...most of the paint on the carpet is going to be covered by furniture if we ever get to move it in. I want my home.....if we have to wait for the carpet to be replaced, it could be weeks before we can move all of our stuff inside & actually unpack. For at least $1,000.00 off the painting invoice, I could be convinced to 'ignore' the carpet issue. I just want this to be over with. The last 3 weeks has just been a series of mishaps & frustrations....and I just want to get past it all & get on with my life!

End Part 2

At of 6 PM, we officially own a 1890 SQFT home in Hayward. :) Painters come Friday (see post on 7/25 for link to color scheme) A 170 SQFT structure in the back yard is being turned into a walk-in closet for me on Saturday. We move in next Thursday. So...my social life this weekend is nil. :) I will be going to Vicki's monthly party on the 14th. I'm also doing the whole Odyssey Folsom Fringe shebang. Rik & I are talking about having a House Warming / Halloween party on Saturday October 30. Details will be sent out as we figure them out. I think that covers everything. Questions? Comments? :)
