And on the Work Front
Wow, lots of potential for change. This'll get long, so there'll be cut tags separating the topics.
My Latest Review
This is written by the CEO. All errors are due to my lack of desire to correct her stuff as I went.
Job Knowledge
5 - Understands why all job functions are performed & inter-relationship with other jobs. An expert.
Heather has an exceptional understanding of her job duties and the knowledge necessary to perform them, including; HR policies, procedures, payroll processing and benefit administration. She attends ongoing training classes to increase her knowledge and incorporates the new knowledge into her work. This year, Heather learned ADP's internet based EZLabor Paperless Timecard System which replaced our paper timesheets. This was a major task to implement and has required substantial time for all employees and managers to learn the ins and outs of the system.
Accuracy/Quality
4 - Very accurate. Commits few errors.
Heather is very conscientious regarding her work and rarely makes errors. The quality of her work is more than acceptable.
Volume
3 - Standard productivity under normal working conditions.
Heather usually meets her deadlines even with numerous interruptions and distractions. Having her own office should help her to avoid last minute 'rushes' in the future.
Organization Skills
3 - Requires supervisory assistance in setting priorities; however, plans, organizes and completes work satisfactorily. Work is sufficiently organized to efficiently perform the job.
Heather tends to be less productive when she is faced with multiple, competing projects and deadlines and when she needs to interact with others to complete a project or task. When faced with delays caused by others, she tends to place those projects to the side and is hesitant to pick them up again not wanting to be frustrated by another's slow or lack of response. A little more patience with others would help to deflect some of her frustration in this area and may help others to respond faster to her requests.
Initiative
3 - Does not shirk. Voluntarily attempts to solve non-routine job problems as they occur.
Heather tackles her duties without hesitation and takes pride in solving routine problems on her own. She will take responsibility for duties overlooked or forgotten by others to make sure they are done.
Cooperation
3 - Is generally aware of departmental functions and objectives and willingly coordinates own activities with those of peers when the need is obvious.
Heather usually is very cooperative and has pitched in to help cover other areas when we are short staffed. However, if she is not enthusiastic about a particular task or project, she sometimes resists completing is until directed. She is willing to help out when necessary to make sure the department is covered.
Reliability/Punctuality
4 - Completes work with little supervision. Will complete occasional special projects. Rarely late or absent.
Heather is reliable about completing her work on time and willing to take on special projects when asked. Her attendance is good but her punctuality could use some improvement.
Overall Evaluation
Commendable - Performance exceeds the requirements of the position and the expectations of the supervisor.
Major Strengths or Accomplishments
Heathers attention to detail and strong job knowledge are her greatest strengths. Her desire to learn new things will allow her to take on more responsibility as her job duties are expanded. Heather accomplished a major task when she implemented the ADP EZLabor Program. Is was stressfull for the employees to learn a new system and must of that frustration was taken out on Heather. To her credit, Heather has made progress in learning patience with those who do not learn as fast as she does and not taking the employee's frustration with the new system as a personal attack.
Performance Areas Needing Improvement and Plan for Improvement
As stated above, Heather has made progress in learning to be more patient with fellow employees and stopping to think before she speaks when frustrated. Some of this frustration came from a distinct clash in work styles and personalities with her previous manager and should be resolved now that she reports to someone else. This is still work to be done in this area. When she is busy, or under deadline, Heather interactions with others can become abrupt, brusque, or rude. Heather should work toward ensuring that all her inter-personal interactions are conducted courteously.

'scope again
1 of my horoscopes for Saturday questioned who I was trying to impress & why.
The more I ruminate on that, the more I have to say...yeah. Why am I trying to impress other people, or for that matter, why am I trying to change for other people?
I should be trying to impress myself & change for myself, and if that happens to please others, cool. If not...oh fucking well. I really need to learn that I can't go through life worrying about what others think, and wondering how I can get their approval.

Horoscopes
It's interesting how horoscopes for the same day can differ, and if you're poly, the perspective on the love horoscopes can change based on which of your loves you choose to apply some of it to.

Your Daily Horoscope - Leo
August 9, 2006
You're the cosmic equivalent of an electrical power strip right now -- except it's not appliances that view you as an energy source, it's people. You're the conduit for all different kinds of connections.
Daily Extended
August 09, 2006
Follow the recent advice a friend or family member gave you -- and polish up your diplomacy skills. The spotlight will be shining brightly on you at some point during this day, and you must be prepared to act the part of the charming leader. You will get a lot farther with other people today if you remember this: You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. If you can keep smiling (especially when you don't necessarily feel like it) then you will hit a homerun.
Daily Single's Love
August 09, 2006
The thrill of the chase isn't enough. Think of your love life as being on saute rather than flambe. After all, you want to be in a situation that's for the long haul, not one that will give you a quick (if dramatic) burn.
Daily Couple's Love
August 09, 2006
Why be the stubborn one when you can be someone with the latest, greatest new idea? Use your powers to look for a different solution for the two of you, rather than clinging to an outmoded point of view.
