Work, again

My former Boss Lady, the VP of HR......put in writing that her last day would be January 31, 2006. That's been my mantra for the last few weeks....hold on til the 31st, hold on til the 31st... Well....it seems that's not as iron-clad as I thought. She's getting gall bladder surgery in February. I asked her, if she's getting surgery in February, why doesn't she make her last day February 1, so that she'll continue to have full medical coverage until the 28th? (we carry out coverage until the end of the month that you leave....leaving the last day of the month effectively kills that idea) So.....now it seems that she's worked out some deal with the CEO. She'll be getting paid sick/vacation hours for the bulk of February, she'll still be fully covered medically.....and she won't offically be off the books until mid-March.....and the real kicker to make matters worse (for me anyways), she's talking about coming back on a hourly basis. I'm tempted to kind of mouth off to her today....."Gee, you know that we're supposed to be getting a clerk/receptionist to take over part of my job....you could come back for that....."
