Unintentionally making a point

The point is....hire a fucking receptionist I've been sick since Wednesday night. Went to work Thursday & just felt generally crappy. Loaded up on generic DayQuil Friday & spent the day feeling stoned & disoriented (and to think some people purposely want to feel that way). On Friday, I warned the CEO & HR Manager that if I continued to feel like crap, I was only going to work 1/2 days during the following week....coming in just to get payroll finished. Monday, woke up at my usual 5:30am....felt nauseous & was running a slight fever. Emailed the HR Manager & told her, per our conversations Friday, since I still felt bad, I was coming in at 1:00pm to get payroll started. I'm not sure who covered the front desk from 8:00am-1:00pm (2 people at least), but the HR Manager was quite relieved when I came in. Spent the afternoon running the HR Manager through the 1st part of her payroll training. Today....same thing....still felt like crap, but I had to be there during the morning, because payroll had to be transmitted to ADP before 2:00pm. So....spent the morning running the HR Manager through the 2nd part of her payroll training. Around 11:45am, I asked if they desperately needed me to stay. They said if I was feeling bad to go home when my lunch relief showed up. She finally got there at 12:15pm. It took the HR Manager asking 3 people to find coverage for my desk for the rest of the afternoon....4 people to finish out the day, including the HR Manager & possibly the former VP of HR (my EX-boss lady). Tomorrow....definitely have to be there in the morning to finish the payroll process...which usually takes me a minimum of 4 hours (without interruptions HA HA HA)....I'll probably just finish out the day....unless my level of generally feeling crappy degrades itself to REALLY feeling crappy. On a selfish note....hopefully I'm magically over whatever it is I have by tomorrow, because I really want to go with Vicki to Sedusa's Sanctuary, Friday night. On a weird note....why is it when a woman of child-bearing age is sick...someone always has to ask if they are pregnant. I am notoriously anti-child....and my Former Boss-Lady knows this....yet the 1st thing she asks after hearing I've been sick for most of a week is "Are you sure you're not pregnant?"
