Mountains & Molehills

Most of you that have spoken with me during the last 6+ months, know that I am less than thrilled with my job. 1. Boss is a PITA. 2. Not enough work to keep me busy. 3. Uniform! So.....in January, I saw a great position posting for a payroll clerk for the City/County of SF....making at least $6,500.00 more a year than I currently make. The cut-off date for application submission was 1/24/05, and I fired mine off on 1/20. So...hadn't heard a peep, pretty much wrote them off. My co-worker just gave her 2 week notice, and her last day is Friday the 18th. What do I get in the mail today?? City & County of San Francisco, Public Utilities Commission - "We have scheduled you for a qualifying interview on Wednesday March 16 at 4:00 PM." So....I need to tell my boss I have a doctor appointment at 1 on Wednesday....and hope she will let me out of there.....and hope that she doesn't ask for proof. She never has before....but there's always a 1st time.... IF IF IF they actually offer me the job.....then I have to learn how to not feel guilty for leaving my current company with no Human Resources department, other than my boss.....
