This isn't how I wanted to do it

As everyone knows, I've been (very selectively) job hunting. Since 3/22, I've submitted 6 resumes for various payroll/hr positions. The cream of the crop (for me anyway) is Google...but so far they haven't acknowledged my existence. I had a phone screen from a company very close to home last week, but haven't heard anything further from them. Yesterday, I got a call from a resume I sent out on Sunday. The company is in the Financial Disctrict (a few blocks from Embarcadero Bart) and wants me to interview ASAP. I told them that I was processing payroll this week & that Tuesday-Wednesday were not a good time for me to take a few hours off. They suggested Thursday or Friday morning. I told them I'd check with my boss & call them back as soon as I had an answer. So, after an unpleasant incident with the VP of Lending & the Supervisor of Lending...I finally had a second to talk to my boss. I asked her if she'd have time for a meeting after I got back from lunch. She said she was too busy, had a meeting with a VP & a doctor appointment that she wasn't sure how long it would take. SO, I said 'ok, well then I'll give you the short version, since I need an answer. I'm looking for a new job & a company wants me to interview either Thursday or Friday morning. When can you spare me? Oh and BTW, I'd like to talk to you about the VP & Sup. of Lending. I don't appreciate how they treated me earlier.' She said Thursday was better for me to take off. And that was the whole of the conversation. Hopefully, she'll have time to talk to me today.
